Stage Whispers...

In the tradition of past presidents, I hope to post messages on this, our award-winning website, every so often. There's always a lot going on within our Curtain Players community and I will try to pass along matters of interest as they come to my attention. If you're like me, I'm always hearing that so and so is acting in this play, directing a piece, traveling to some exotic place, etc. but there's no one place to go to keep track of all of these goings-on. I'd like to use this spot for this purpose. To do this, of course, I will need your help. If you have some news to share about yourself or another member of our theater community, please drop me an e-mail at president@curtainplayers.com.

At this time, however, I want to use this space to make a personal appeal... At present, Curtain Players has a critical need. We need to fill two vacancies on the Board: Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator. We have been posting these openings on our website but thus far, everyone's sort of hiding in the back row. I am asking for a couple of you to step forward. While I realize that board service requires a commitment of time, it may not be as significant as you imagine. Moreover, by joining the Board at this particular time, you will have considerable influence in the planning of our 50th Anniversary season and in our current effort to improve the process by which plays and directors are selected. It really is an exciting time to be serving and I know there are some of you out there who have much to contribute to these projects, as well as to the general governance of our organization. You need not be a veteran member of our theater community to serve on the Board. We welcome newcomers.

If you haven't yet considered applying for one of these open spots, please do. If you have, but thought that someone else would step up, please reconsider. We need your help.
