CP Launches Holiday Food Drive, Annual Fund Campaign
Curtain Players is launching two give-back initiatives in time for the holiday season, one to benefit the community-at-large and another to support our own organization.
The first of these initiatives is a partnership with Westerville Area Resource Ministry for a holiday food drive. This is being done in conjunction with our production of A Little House Christmas. The second initiative is a fundraising campaign to address our own needs at the Harlem Road playhouse.
We hope these will be ongoing projects, and we ask you to consider what you can do to make these two efforts successful.
Holiday Food Drive
With A Little House Christmas, Curtain Players has forged the partnership with Westerville Area Resource Ministry for a holiday food drive. In the spirit of the story told on stage, those attending performances are being asked to contribute five (5) non-perishable food items and household goods or a bag of groceries.

Goods collected will be delivered to WARM for distribution in their food pantry during the holiday season. Cash donations, too, will be accepted at the theatre.
WARM, a faith-based organization serving the Westerville community since 1972, is a resource center providing individuals with programs and services which foster economic, emotional and spiritual well-being. WARM's mission is neighbor helping neighbor, offering "a hand up, not a hand out" helping those in need restore dignity and hope in their lives.
Annual Fund Campaign
The Curtain Players fundraising campaign is an effort to generate revenue for specific projects at the playhouse. This year we want to raise money to improve and to add emergency exits for the safety of in the playhouse, and to install plumbing to bring hot water to the building for the comfort of all. Annual fund campaigns in successive years will follow this formula of raising money for expressly stated purposes. Extra dollars received in a campaign would be designated as a head start on other planned projects or for general operating expenses, such as postage.
An annual fund, we believe, is smart and responsible fundraising. Ticket revenue alone cannot support our programming and building needs, and we seek your support for this new campaign. In return, we will have several benefits to recognize your generosity.
I like to refer to Curtain Players as a "community in theatre." Those of us who volunteer with the organization share a keen interest in the performing arts and in preserving quality local and affordable opportunities for our enjoyment of and participation in these creative pursuits. Being an active part of any community comes with responsibility. Curtain Players, with this food drive, is giving back to the local community from whom we look to support our mission.
Regarding Curtain's fundraising campaign, like you, I have benefited by my involvement with Curtain Players. I want to give back to our organization to keep the group active and strong for myself and others.
Please join me and the others on the leadership team in supporting both the food drive and the fundraising campaign. Your demonstration of generosity is a show of support for our broad community of man and our own "community in theatre."
