The Curtain Players staging of A.R. Gurney’s comedy of manners, The Dining Room, received review from Central Ohio Theatre Roundtable critic Dwayne Steward.

Steward attended the Friday, October 21, performance.  The complete post may be seen at http://www.centralohiotheatreroundtable.org/rtprimary/index.php/read-reviews/236-curtain-players-qthe-dining-roomq

Steward had words of praise for each actor’s individual performance, and wrote that together the company members “add depth and sensitivity to the nearly bygone culture in Gurney’s WASP manifesto.”  Cory Baker, Randy Benge, Megan Evans, Mary Fisher, Laura Smith Hill, and Drew Washburn comprise The Dining Room ensemble.  Stage manager Amy Anderson filled in for Megan Evans at the reviewed performance when Evans was felled by illness.

Steward also noted director James F. Petsche “seamlessly intertwines” the play’s 18 vignettes.  Steward gave special mention to Angela Krumpelman’s costume plot.

Room will close its run this weekend (October 28-30) at the Harlem Road playhouse.  Tickets are on sale on the www.curtainplayers.com website or by calling 614.360.1000.
