Happy New Year! Season 49 under way

July 1 was New Year’s Day for Curtain Players. The date marks the official start of a new season – it’s now number 49 at the Harlem Road playhouse – and of the new fiscal year. The board in special session June 28 approved a detailed budget for the new season, the first time in many years that this has been successfully done. The budget also includes a revived annual patron program. The goal of that fundraising effort is $12,500.

As of July 1, the 2011-2012 Curtain Players Board of Directors formally assumed their respective duties. Members of the leadership team at the season-end event June 25 took a ceremonial oath of office in preparation for assuming the administrative roles they will hold until June 30, 2012.

Michael Fusco is president of the board. The other team members include: Doug Browell, vice president; Miranda Hinton, secretary; Michael Day, treasurer; Leia Bame, production manager; Kate Charlesworth-Miller, marketing manager; Courtney Lingnofski, membership outreach manager; Beth Nisonger, business manager; Mark Rasche, trustee; and Drew Washburn, facilities manager.

Jaylene Henderson resigned her office as volunteer coordinator. The board is expected to make an appointment sometime soon, as well as to announce its meeting schedule for Season 49.
