Curtain Players will participate in the Ohio Community Theatre Association Central Region Showcase this Saturday (July 9) in Newark. Dinner with Friends represents Curtain Players at the annual event which provides those active in area community theatre companies an opportunity to see each other’s efforts and to network among themselves.
Keely Kurtas-Chapman directed the original production and oversees its revival for the showcase. Amy Anderson, James F. Petsche, Mark Schuliger, and Jill Taylor reprise their roles. Curtain Players presented the Donald Margulies Pulitzer Prize-winning play at the Harlem Road playhouse June 3-19.
At Saturday’s regional event, Central Ohio community theatre companies showcase excerpts from their recently completed seasons. Responders offer constructive criticisms and award certificates for achievement in performance, directing, and design. At least one excerpt will be invited to represent the Central Region at the OCTA State Conference in Independence (suburban Cleveland) during Labor Day weekend September 2-5.
Licking County Players will host the daylong event at its theatre, located at 131 West Main Street in Newark (43055). The registration desk will open at 8:30 AM with a day ticket priced at $16.
Five of 20 community theatre companies in OCTA’s Central Region are
showcasing excerpts. Curtain Players will present at 11 AM.
