Curtain Wouldn't Be Curtain Without Volunteers

Observance recognizes contributions of those who give time, talent.

For nearly 50 years, Curtain Players has grown and flourished because of the generosity of its volunteers.

Whether they be members of the leadership team, actors, directors, technicians, designers, board operators, running crew members, stage managers and assistants, box office workers, ushers, concessionaires, parking lot attendants, building crew members, landscapers and gardeners, members of the reading and director selection committees, website administrators, advertising salespeople, graphic designers, or members of numerous ad hoc panels, this “community in theatre” remains strong because each individual accepts the challenge to give of himself and to mine success with others.

Because of these gifts of time, talents, experiences, and educations freely shared, Curtain Players is able to provide meaningful, accessible and affordable opportunities for entertainment, creative expression, socialization, and enjoyment of the theatre arts for its audiences in Central Ohio, particularly those in its Westerville and Harlem Township home base.

National Volunteer Week is being observed April 10-16, and the Curtain Players Board of Directors is proud of the dozens of people – past and present – who work diligently and who contribute of themselves to the organization without compensation or material benefits.  The leadership team appreciates these efforts and says thank you for them.

Jaylene Henderson is the board member in charge of the Curtain Players volunteer program this season, and she welcome inquiries from those interested in becoming involved or trying new opportunities with the organization.  Contact Henderson at volunteer@curtainplayers.com with questions or for more information.

One of the easiest ways to acquaint oneself with Curtain Players is to volunteer for a house staff team, working performances and seeing the play for free.  DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the final production of the 2010-2011 season, runs June 3-4, 10-12 and 17-19.  Contact Henderson to sign up for a performance.
