Leia Bame is the newest member of the Curtain Players Board of Directors, the community theatre company's new production manager.

Bame succeeds Michael Day in this board office. Day, who has been Curtain's production manager since July 2009, assumed treasurer responsibilities when Tammy Muse resigned that post.

As production manager, Bame — working with a committee of producers — shepherds the production of Curtain Players presentations from auditions to strike, and shapes processes that guarantee all aspects of those presentations run as efficiently as possible.

Bame most recently served Curtain Players as assistant stage manager for OUR TOWN. According to her program bio for that production, Bame spent more than 10 years working in various technical theatre capacities in Northern California and in San Diego. She did undergraduate work in Theatrical Studies at San Diego State University before pursuing her degree in ECE and Family Studies. Her favorite production credits include GODSPELL, A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, HAIR, SYLVIA, and for Curtain Players, THE SUNSHINE BOYS and MAURITIUS.
