Reading Committee Asking for Ideas

The Curtain Players Playreading Committee has begun its work to consider scripts for production during the 2011-2012 season. Mary Acierno is chairing this season's panel with members Mary Benge, Keely Kurtas-Chapman, April Olt, Kim Sanders, and Charlie Sloin. Board Member/Production Manager Michael Day and Technical Director Drew Washburn serve in an advisory role.

As it did last year, the committee encourages script suggestions from everyone in the Curtain Players community. Anyone who has a play or story he would like to see on the Curtain Players stage, please provide the title (and playwright, if known), plot line, and why it is a good fit for Curtain Players. Submissions may be sent to Mary Acierno or dropped in the submission box at the Harlem Road playhouse during performances of THE SUNSHINE BOYS in September.

The deadline for submissions is October 1. This will allow the committee sufficient time to review and to read plays before making its recommendation to the Curtain Players Board of Directors in January.

Curtain Players will stage six productions in 2011-2012, the company's 49th season. The staging of the musical TITANIC has already been announced for April 2012.
