Synopsis:
Communicating Doors, a time-traveling comedy thriller, is the story of Ms. Poopay Dayseer, a twenty-first century prostitute. While peddling her 'services' to an elderly hotel room client, she unexpectedly finds herself running for her life. She escapes through a communicating door and is brought face to face with her own past and with Ruella who apparently died under suspicious circumstances twenty years earlier. Curtain Players Audition Process
Effective with the 2010-2011 season, the Curtain Players audition process is undergoing a few changes.
We will be conducting only one evening of auditions per production. The auditions will be held on a Sunday evening, approximately 12 weeks prior to opening night. Rehearsals will still begin approximately 8 weeks prior to opening, so the time commitment on the part of the actors will be no longer than it has been.
On audition evenings, the registration process will begin at 6:30, in order to begin the actual audition session promptly at 7:00 pm. In the event that someone wishing to audition is not available to attend the official audition, an early audition may be requested of the director; the early audition will be granted solely at the director's discretion. The request for an early audition must be made no later than the Sunday 2 weeks prior to the scheduled official audition date.
One other thing we are adding this year is a Script Review Session. Shortly before the audition date, we will make scripts available for review in order to make a determination on interest in the show as well as which parts would be of interest. Our goal is to also have the director available to answer any questions specific to the production.
All audition dates for the 2010-2011 season have been scheduled. Please refer to the Curtain Players calendar. Questions related to the audition process may be directed to Michael Day, Production Manager, at mday@curtainplayers.com.
